What is a Short Radius Elbow?

A Short Radius (SR) Elbow is a type of pipe fitting used to change the direction of flow in a piping system, typically by 45° or 90°, within a compact space. The term “short radius” means that the elbow’s curvature radius is equal to the pipe diameter (1D), making it smaller and tighter compared to a long radius elbow.
